If you are happy with Wasatch for the care of your pet, that is great, keep on using them. We will not as we have had our confidence in them shaken to the point of actual distrust of what we are being told. This is NOT our first use of them, other outcomes were both good and bad and so-so. Our animals are our responsibility and our love, we have to trust their care provider, we simply do not have that trust anymore in Wasatch. We wish you all the best and the best of luck for your animals.

There are few places willing to take an unusual pet. So when I got my pet fox, I wanted a place that would take care of him. The breeder told me of this place, so I gave it a call an d set up an appointment. Because of a busy schedule, I had to go up on a weekend to get him his shots. The staff was nice, and got me and my fox the shots he needed. I returned a month later for more shots and got the same result. Granted, it may not be the cheapest place but a place that will take care of your furry and scaled friends, no matter what they are is worth it, in my opinion.
These guys are the best! I bring my ball python here when he's having issues and they always take very good care of him. I brought in a dying crested gecko at 10pm once and the young male doctor knew he wasn't going to make it, but tried anyway. He was extremely sympathetic and even gave me a little box we could bury him in. In another instance, I brought in a baby ball python on the brink of death and the staff tried very hard to bring him back. Knowing he probably wasn't going to make it, they still tried to save him. When I got the call that he had passed on, the voice on the other line delivered the news in a way that made everything seem OK, given the circumstances. These guys are just the best and I trust them 100% with my scale babies.
I will preface the review with this codicil, " I am sure they can handle with great expertise SOME animals brought in", the issue I have is that they seem to be willing to take everything and do "something" even if they are not sure of the treatment or if it is warranted. I had my domestic duck in because she was quite ill. They were upfront about costs, I understand that they have a business to run but they do seem a bit preoccupied with payment. They treated her and did some work on her. We took her home and she quickly began to deteriorate, we called and were told that we could bring her back in and they would again look at her. I was given the idea that since I was dealing with a duck that perhaps I should call Tracey Aviary and see who they used for their birds, I did. I called the new clinic and gave them an overall of my situation and they had me bring my duck in immediately. I took the bill from Wasatch to show what they had done and the medication we were sent home with. The new Clinic called Wasatch for the X-ray copies, which BTW were farmed out as Wasatch has no onsite capability we were told, lab blood work also it appears, anyway, Wasatch could not seem to "figure out" how to transmit those x-rays to the new clinic even though they walked them trough the steps. Long story shortened a bit, the new clinic decided rather than wait for Wasatch to come into the 21st century, they did there own. We were told by Wasatch that my duck while NOT egg bound, in their opinion, there was an egg but they would deal with it. The new x-rays showed that not only was the orig. egg still in place, another had started to form and she was in deep trouble. Also they showed that her trachea was obstructed by a lesion, clearly visible to even these old eyes. As I said longer story shortened, MY DUCK DIED.....It was too late and she was too weak to survive surgery. We made a mistake on a couple of fronts. First, we did NOT ask to see the x-ray(s) ourselves, not sure at this point if they were even done. Second, we just excepted Wasatch's assessment as gospel, should have asked more questions, but you tend to have to trust your vet. The Doctor at the new clinic was very upfront about ALL of the ways to deal with our duck, including the worst one which was the honesty of her not being well enough to survive the work needing to be done. Oh make no mistake he gave us the costs up front also if we chose to risk it, BUT, in the same breath, he said we would most likely be out both the money and the duck. Wasatch, they gave us costs too, but it always for "what ELSE we can TRY", NOT "this is not a good idea".
Fast forward to Monday and I get a call from this place telling me they aren't open on Sundays and if I want to come in they want a $65 fee to be paid over the phone then they can get me in at the end of the day.
Absolutely terrible. Our rabbit was in need of urgent care on a Sunday - I was directed to Wasatch Exotic Pet Care by literally every other Animal Hospital from Ogden to Provo. Turns out WEPC is *NOT* open on Sunday like they claim, they don't return calls and they don't have an answering service on Sundays either.
This hospital took great care of my duck in an emergency poisoning accident. They didn't over charge, the Dr called me personally periodically through the day to give me updates on her progress and I was reassured in a highly stressful situation that she was in great hands; which I found verycomforting. I am thrilled that I picked them in my emergency manner and would highly recommend them to any one in need of a professional expert to treat your loved one especially in a emergency situation!
